Parade Run benefits the Redwood City Education Foundation
Ever want to run with 40,000 spectators? Here's your chance!
This popular and festive 5k fun run and walk takes place along the route of one of the most popular 4th of July parades in Northern California, so you'll have no shortage of supporters. Afterwards, stay for the parade and festival.
Proceeds from Parade Run benefit the Redwood City Education Foundation Save Our School Music campaign to keep instrumental music education in our schools.
Parade Run is the first event in our Redwood City Race Series, which also includes OktobeRun, the Peninsula's only half marathon, held the second Saturday of October.

4th OF JULY PARADE RUN 2011
On July 4th, 2011, Redwood City saw an even bigger race, with more than 747 runners and walkers. We also had a float in the 4th of July Parade to get the Save Our School Music (SOSM) message out to the huge crowds of race and parade watchers. Thanks to run particpants, sponsors and supporters, and our dynamite organizing committee, we were able to add $20,500 to our SOSM campaign coffers to support our student musicians.
4th OF JULY FUNRUN 2010
On July 4th, 2010, Redwood City saw its biggest FunRun ever, with more than 670 runners.
Topping this off, was the debut during the 4th of July Parade of the first ever RCEF Marching Kazoo band, which walked away with a $125 prize for placing 2nd in the miscellaneous youth group category.
Best of all, we raised almost $22,000 for the Save Our School Music campaign.
